Installation Instructions
To ensure safe installation, follow the provided vehicle-specific instructions. Proper fitment guarantees the recovery points will perform at their maximum working load limit.
Important: Always use the recovery points as a matched pair with an equalising bridle. Combining a single recovery point with a side load or pull could damage the points and void your warranty.
Installation Tips
-
Professional Fitting: We recommend fitting the recovery points with the help of a qualified mechanic who has expertise in 4WD vehicles. This ensures they are correctly installed, taking into account your vehicleโs weight distribution, Bull Bar style, and overall use.
-
Chassis Compatibility: These recovery points are designed for vehicles without bull bars. If your vehicle has a bull bar, modifications may be needed. In some cases, this may include adjusting the bull bar bracket or adding hardware like longer bolts.
Bull Bar Compatibility
If your vehicle is fitted with a bull bar, the mounting bolts may interfere with the recovery points’ installation. In many cases, a solution is available, but in some situations, modifications to the bull bar or vehicle may be required.
We provide a list of compatible bull bars, available [here]. If additional hardware, like longer bolts, is needed, they can be purchased locally. Since bull bar combinations vary, we cannot include all possible bolts in the kit.
Always use grade 8.8 or higher bolts and follow the correct torque specifications.
Performance and Use
-
Straight-Line Pulls: These recovery points are designed for straight-line recoveries, as well as off-centerline pulls up to 30 degrees.
-
Not for Lifting: The recovery points are not tested for lifting. Lifting requires different forces that may damage the recovery points.
Important Notes
-
Warranty: The warranty covers defects in the recovery points. However, incorrect installation, misuse, or improper selection can void the warranty.
-
Chassis Suitability: The vehicle’s chassis must be rated to handle recovery forces. The recovery points are tested for strength, but itโs your responsibility to ensure the chassis can safely accommodate them.
