  Roadsafe Rated Recovery Tow Points undergo FEA Testing during design and Destruction Testing during development to establish Working Load Limits (WLL). These points are designed as matched pairs and are supplied in LH/RH for vehicle-specific fitment.

  Important Safety Information:

  • Always use Rated Recovery Points as a matched pair with an equalising bridle.
  • Never use a single point with a side load/pull, as this can cause fatigue and bending, voiding your warranty.
  • Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic with specialist 4WD knowledge to ensure proper fitment.

  Compatibility with Bull Bars:

  Rated Recovery Points are designed for vehicles without Bull Bars. If a Bull Bar is installed, its mounting bolts/brackets may interfere with fitment. In many cases, a workaround exists, but some modifications might be necessary.

  • Additional hardware (longer bolts, brackets, etc.) may be required for installation.
  • If your specific combination isn’t covered, you may need to source additional bolts (grade 8.8 or higher) from a local supplier.

  Key Considerations:

  • Owner’s discretion is required to ensure the vehicle chassis is adequately designed and rated for use with these points.
  • These Rated Recovery Points are designed for straight-line pulls and, in some cases, a 30-degree off-centreline pull.
  • Not suitable for lifting purposes. Lifting and recovery forces are significantly different.

  Installation Instructions

  For proper installation and to ensure the recovery points operate at their maximum working load limit (WLL), follow the detailed instructions included in the kit.

  Important: Always use the recovery points as a matched pair with an equalising bridle. Using a single recovery point with a side load or pull could lead to damage and void your warranty.

  Installation Tips

  • Professional Fitting Recommended: To ensure the points are installed correctly, we suggest having them fitted by a qualified mechanic with 4WD experience. This will ensure proper fitment based on your vehicle’s specific setup, including weight distribution, Bull Bar style, and intended usage.

  • Chassis Compatibility: These recovery points are designed for vehicles without bull bars. If your vehicle has a bull bar, modifications may be necessary. In such cases, the bull bar bracket may need adjustments, and additional hardware (like longer bolts) may be required.

  Bull Bar Compatibility

  For vehicles fitted with bull bars, the mounting bolts may conflict with the chassis holes needed for the recovery points. While fixes are often available, in some cases, major modifications may be required.

  We maintain a list of compatible bull bars, available [here]. If additional hardware is needed, such as longer bolts, they can be purchased locally. Due to the variety of bull bar combinations, we cannot include every possible bolt in the kit.

  Always use grade 8.8 or higher bolts and ensure they are tightened to the appropriate torque specifications.

  Performance and Use

  • Straight-Line Pulls: These recovery points are designed for straight-line recoveries and are tested to handle the forces involved.

  • Not for Lifting: These recovery points are not designed for lifting purposes. Lifting requires different forces, which could compromise the integrity of the recovery points.

  Important Notes

  • Warranty: The warranty covers defects in the recovery points. However, improper installation, misuse, or incorrect selection may void the warranty.

  • Chassis Suitability: The chassis must be designed and rated to handle the recovery forces. The recovery points themselves are tested for strength, but it’s the vehicle owner’s responsibility to ensure the chassis can accommodate them safely.
